Laurie Lamb
Laurie
Supply Minister

After a thorough, albeit condensed, search for a term Supply Minister, the Search Committee, with the approval of the Official Board, is pleased to announce that Laurie Lamb has been offered and has accepted the position. Her term of appointment runs from
September 01, 2011 to June 30, 2012.

Laurie has already been with South Burnaby for three years in both a
student and a congregational role. She has had many opportunities to fill in for the ministry team and also to work alongside them.

She hails from Prince George where she studied social work and has
a degree in computer information services. As a member of St. Andrews United Church she was involved in many facets of the church. She was a worship assistant, youth leader, worked in the soup kitchen, a member of the board, and an avid volunteer.

Laurie has recently graduated with a degree in Christian Studies from the Vancouver School of Theology, and has finished a Clinical Pastoral
Education program at St. Paul’s Hospital. Starting in August 2012 she
will be completing her studies through the Centre for Christian Studies in Winnipeg.

This year is a pastoral care year which she has applied for credit for previous education and experience which frees her up for this position at South Burnaby United Church. This is an exciting and challenging time for all of us at South Burnaby United Church. Laurie’s caring and enthusiastic nature will fit right in.
